Annual Foreign Capital in The Country Census 2022 | Deadline august 15th 2022

The Central Bank of Brazil – BACEN began on July 1, 2022 to receive the Annual Census of Foreign Capital in the Country 2022, referring to the base year of 2021.
The declaration must be made by 6:00 pm on August 15, 2022.
Regulated by Circular nº 3.795/2016, the declaration is mandatory for legal entities and investment funds, based in the country, that have:
(i) shareholders’ equity equal to or greater than the equivalent of US$ 100 million, until December 31, 2021;
(ii) outstanding balance of short-term commercial credits (up to 360 days), granted by non-residents, in an amount equal to or greater than to the equivalent of US$ 10 million, until December 31, 2021.
We emphasize that the non-presentation, delivery after the deadline, or wrong information of the declaration may result in the imposition of a fine.
